Thank you for your interest in Cheshire West and Chester Council.
As the first Chief Executive of the new Council I am delighted that you wish to join me, and the newly recruited directors, to play a pivotal role in taking the authority forward to be the best of the best.
We are the fourth largest unitary authority in the North West and we will have a powerful strategic voice in the region and nationally. We will be effective in attracting public and private investment to enhance the prosperity of the area. We will work hard to drive forward initiatives that will make a real difference to our residents. People will be our focus.
We will build on the strong foundations and good work that has already been achieved by the district councils and county council. From this base we will deliver a step change in performance and service delivery that will be appreciated by our residents, businesses and partners. High quality, customer-focus, innovation, efficiency and effective service delivery will become our watchwords.
The transition is moving forward apace and the recruitment of a strong team of heads of service is now imperative to provide expert support to the corporate management team and the executive. And to provide strong, motivational leadership to our other managers and staff.
The heads of service posts each require exceptional leadership skills, expert knowledge and a commitment to driving through the major changes that lie ahead.
As part of Cheshire West and Chester you will have a unique opportunity to be central to this new and powerful authority, shaping the council from its inception as we develop a flagship organisation together. To succeed, everyone must play their full part.
As senior officers we will work with the council leader, the executive, elected members, colleagues and partners to deliver a truly outstanding level of service.
